As I ponder my favorite things about this place I’m immediately brought back to memories of the peaceful mornings and coffee outdoors. This is actually my favorite time on any trip – But this is different. I chose this place and created Lost Horizon to blend comfort and wildness. As the morning light peaks through the trees, the tent begins to brighten naturally and sometimes it’s so quiet that I can hear my own heartbeat. Before long, the many bird species and far away bellows of red stags and occasional bull elk bugles create a special feeling immersion into this unique world. During October and into November, I love listening to the them as they do what they’ve done for eons. This is when I like to make my favorite coffee and sit on the deck until this beautiful temporary magic fades and it’s time for something new. Maybe I’ll cook a late breakfast over the campfire!
